Teknik Pemeriksaan Radiografi Nasofaring Pada Pasien Dengan Indikasi Hipertrofi Adenoid Di Intalasi Radiologi RSUD dr. Adhyatma MPH

Abstract

Nasopharyngeal radiography examination technique in patients with indications of adenoid hypertrophy using lateral projection cranium examination with open mouth. According to the theory of Long et al., 2016 adenoid hypertrophy disorders can be confirmed by lateral projection nasopharyngeal radiography examination of soft tissue with a true lateral position. This study aims to determine the technique of nasopharyngeal radiography, the reasons for using lateral open mouth cranium at RSUD dr. Adhyatma, MPH.

     This research is a qualitative study using a case study approach. Data collection took place at the Radiology Unit of Dr. Adhyatma Regional Hospital. The study was conducted between March and May 2025.

The results of the study showed that the technique of nasopharyngeal radiographic examination in patients with indications of adenoid hypertrophy in the radiology installation of Dr. Adhyatma, MPH Hospital used lateral cranial projection with open mouth. The reason for using lateral cranial projection with open mouth in nasopharyngeal radiographic examination was so that the area being examined was not cut, so that the palate and cervical were more forward and so that it was not superposed with the mandibular condyle so that the adenoids were seen more clearly.
